My National Veterans Creative Arts 2024 Competition Entries
All took first place locally and are heading to the Nationals

I finished the front Mallard for my friend Louie, who passed away. I then added both of our signatures to the bottom. I was so honored and felt like we both did the piece together. I tried to follow his style, and you can see the differences between the two. Mine is in the back with a standing Canvasback between them. I then gave it to his priest friend, who was surprised and happy to receive it.

I carved this Yellow-nape Amazon Parrot out of a block of wood

I finally did a Themed Guitar for myself.

Does this guitar say Silver Buffalo or what!

How I got the name
Silver Buffalo

I get asked about my name a lot, so here it is in a nutshell.

After a tragic loss in my life, I was totally lost. My brother, Waking Crow, recommended that I start a new journey through art. He also suggested a new identity name to go by. My daughter-in-law, Becca, thought that since my grandfather called me Buffalo Bob, Silver Buffalo would really fit me—and she was right. It wasn't long before I received my first check under the name Silver Buffalo for some of my artwork.

Art is everywhere, all around us.
Even more, Art is in all of us
to expressed in so many different ways.
Let your Art shine through!!!

A special TicTok video thank you.

Through my grief journey, I created a special heart out of stone which I called "The Kona Heart." I gave away over 100 of these along my grief journey and currently am out of them, not planning on making any more soon.

When the heart gets shattered into a million pieces, it can be put back together, but the fractures will always be there, and our love for them will always be there too. So the Kona Heart represents those whom we hold close to our hearts. I did not know this when I sent Haley this heart, that she was going to lose someone close to her, and the Kona Heart would arrive shortly after. She ended her thank you with a "God Bless."

The buffalo calf was carved into this stone. I used a picture for my guide and as you see, after I finished and polished it up it turned out really cool. The finished piece is in its natural color.

Michigan's Polar Bear Themed Guitar

In honor of all the Michigan Polar Bears along with my Grandfather, Amiel DeBusschere / SN:2033648
from Army Engineer, Regiment 310th Company B.
I dedicate this Military Themed Guitar.

This was my first carving of this type. I carved 6 of them and found the wood in the creek by my house.
